The maiden flight of CZ-8 will take place at the end of 2020. Launch prep is now underway.

I do not get why they call this rocket CZ-8 when it is a CZ-7 with two side boosters.
Why not name them CZ-7-4 and CZ-7-2 or something like that?

Still this is an important rocket family as it replaces the main satellite and manned launchers used thus far.
Launched from the new launch site at Hainan island the payload to GTO should be good too.

If it was NASA they would probably spend 80 million dollars to come up with a temperature control system for post landing. China being ever so practical decide to use a jacket and heating pads.

I hear the reason is to prevent remaining fuel from freezing inside the capsule. The capsule was flown to Zhurihe Training Base by helicopter and the fuel drained there. Hypergolic fuel is extremely toxic and can easily kill people if spilled.
