How so? Basically all rock-return missions from the moon follow similar steps

Because this mission is not only to return rocks. The mission profile is a rehearsal for later manned mission.

How so? Basically all rock-return missions from the moon follow similar steps

Apollo - human beings
Soviet - direct ascent return to earth without moon orbit rendezvous
Chang e 5 - like apollo without humans

I was wondering about that and IMO 29/30 is a long time away for there not to be other similar types of missions to the moon.

Chang'e 6, 7 and 8, all of them at the south pole. 6 and 8 will return samples.
