By the look of the video footage, it looks like the orbiter is synchronized with the rotation of the moon.

Edit: I notice Taxiya speculating it's fake. It could be.

It is fake, this account has been posting multiple vids similar to this depicting Chang'e 5 landing, before the actual landing even took place!
Look through the video content of this channel and its basically full of fake content. Please check the content creators carefully in order to verify their credibility.

Got it.

Edit: Hmm looks like I can't edit my post anymore. If mods can remove my video, much appreciated.

The whole mission is like an automated mini Apollo mission which includes docking with a service module on orbit of the Moon and everything else. This should be great for testing the software live for when the larger missions with humans are done.

Congrats to the CNSA. This live coverage of the landing have been a mess from what I gather. Apparently there is suppose to be live coverage of the Luna Sample Collection

.

The "mid-2020 man on the moon mission" is really about competing with US, it is certainly preferred by some in the CNSA and most of the fans outside of the circle. But I highly doubt if that is the wish of the political leadership. I am confident in the belief that the mentality of Chinese leadership is that "we do what we see fitting our long term interest, we do not let our emotion or foreign provocation to distract our path, we are competing for the materialistic goal, not a flag-planting fanfare".

IIRC, Xi (or someone from his office) had mentioned no useless missions (i.e. flag-planting) several years ago. I forgot what public event this statement was made.

you are right, they designed Chang'e 5 like mini Apollo to verify the technique for manned landing in future:

中国探月工程总设计师吴伟仁提到嫦娥五号方案论证时“实际上,如果只是为了完成采样返回任务,嫦娥五号的系统可以做得简单很多。但考虑到未来的载人登月需求,我们确定了目前的方案,目的在于进行更多的技术验证”

Wu Weiren, the chief scientist of the Chinese lunar exploration project, mentioned the Chang'e 5 plan, "In fact, if just complete the sampling and return mission, the Chang'e 5 system can be made much simpler. But considering the requirement of manned moon landing in the future, We made the current design to do more technical verifications"

How is it different from the Russian and American missions?
