A CZ-11 carrying 3 satellites launched from Jiuquan at 10:29 on March 30 local time. The rocket successfully delivered its payload to the planned orbits. This is the 12th launch of CZ-11. 100% success so far.

3月30日10时29分，我国在酒泉卫星发射中心用长征十一号运载火箭，成功将天平二号A、B、C卫星发射升空，卫星顺利进入预定轨道，发射任务获得圆满成功，长十一火箭2022年宇航发射首战告捷。

The satellites, Tianping-2A, -2B, -2C, are to provide services such as "大气空间环境测量 [ space atmospheric environment measurement ??? ], 轨道预报模型修正 [ orbital forecast model correction ??? ] etc."

天平二号A、B、C卫星主要提供大气空间环境测量和轨道预报模型修正等服务。

此次任务是长征系列运载火箭的第413次飞行。

China launched a CZ-11 rocket at 10:29 UTC+8, March 30, 2021 in Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, orbiting Tianping-2A, 2B and 2C triple satellites. Tianping-2 satellites group will provide the atmosphere-landscape environmental survey and on-orbit prediction model correction service.

This is the 413rd launch mission of CZ series rockets.

Since the payload between the two is so close, why is the CZ-6 needed?

I read somewhere that CZ-6A can carry wider payload fairings (5.2 M) than CZ-8. So depending on the shape of the payload it may be able to launch stuff that CZ-8 can't.

1. it is cheaper, Kerosene 2nd stage vs. LH2/LOX. 2. master the know+how of liquid + SRB technology.

ok, it is a new pad. Its construction was reported in this thread some months ago.

The launch complex is LC-9A.

The efficiency of a rocket is not good. 540t for 4-ton payload into 700km SSO: not great mass ratio

Solid fuel propellant has a lower efficiency than the liquid counterpart.

Ariane 5 also has solid-fuel boosters like the LM-6A and it has a significantly worst "mass ratio" (LEO) than the liquid propellant Long March 5 even though Ariane 5 has the more efficient LH2/LOX liquid propellant.
