100KW?! not 10 or 1KW???

That's a beast of an ion thruster.
I don't think that is typing mistake if that surprised you. 100KW class is top of the line that everybody (China, Russia and US) are developing right now.
US has NASA X3 at 100KW, Russia has TAL-160 25~140KW.

Here is a more detailed summary.

There is an article about a 100KW class Hall thruster design and test by Beihang from 2018. This could be the fruit.

Today China State Council Information Office released the "China's Spaceflight 2021" White paper. It is the fifth white paper on China's space program, following those published in 2000, 2006, 2011 and 2016.

According to the white paper, we will witness the following events during the next five years:
  • The new generation manned carrier rockets and heavy-thrust solid carrier rockets.
  • Wentian and Mengtian Space Laboratory Modules.
  • Xuntian Space Telescope.
  • Chang'e-6 and Chang'e-7 Lunar Exploration Probe
  • Complete operation of the China Space Station.
CNSA will implement the manned lunar landing project, research for the key technology for the Mars sample return project and the Jupiter system survey project, develop the new communication intergration and LEO service enhancement technologies for the next generation Beidou satellite navigation system.

CNSA will also construct new commercial space launch sites and commercial launching station, accelerate the development of commercial space launch and space tourism, and carry out more international cooperation in space technologies.
It is not "will implement". The texts are 中国航天将深化载人登月方案论证, which is CNSA will deepen the study of manned lunar landing solution.

His masterful knowledge extends to naval propulsion as well. Richard has proposed nuclear gas turbines for future Chinese carriers - just the kind of bold and radical thinking SDF needs more of.

Nuclear gas turbine? Whatever it is, I don't want to be anywhere near it. :D

OK, that's enough off-topic discussion for me today.

You needn’t argue with @Richard Santos. His degrees are in engineering physics and astronautics, among very many other subjects. He knows everything there is to know. He is the Grand amd Exalted King of Knowledge (太上懂王) of the Sinodefence Forum. Your understanding, although correct, means nothing.

:D:p

What's the point of stating your credentials online or even IRL outside an interview? If I'm right it should be self evident, if I'm wrong then the degree is clearly not useful here.

It could be a coping mechanism, an escapist fantasy when reality is less than palatable. However, judging by our mutual friend’s posting history, this is far more likely a case of banal narcissism. Parading fake credentials is a form of

, which is frequently employed by narcissists to maintain their delusions of grandeur. It’s just so funny to me that he went about it in such an amateurish and clumsy way. It might have worked at a fanboy forum, but he’s fooling nobody here. Our Grand and Exalted King of Knowledge (太上懂王) truly has no clothes, but he will keep on pretending and sprinkling his saliva on subjects he knows little about, because that's what narcissists do.

Of course, that's not to say I was above such behavior. In my younger days, I've presented false credentials a few times just to end an argument because I was too lazy or frustrated to engage someone too obtuse to understand detailed and logical reasoning.

P.S. Ok, seriously, this is the last of my off-topic discussion for today.
