Marawi style where an ISI inspired group of apparently 1000 fighters let loose on that city where Philippine military along with elements from PNP Special Action Force (SAF) were deployed and engaged those radical elements for 5 long months of urban slugfest.

Bro they were annihilated and the majority or most of the our muslim brothers and sisters support the Duterte administration cause they see the sincerity and have a bright future. Military coup in the Philippines only occurred or more successful during the tenures of 2 female Presidents (Corazon Aquino, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) if am not mistaken.

In Cory Aquino case during those days I support her cause the coup plotters action is so brazen, BUT after several years I've learn the reason and was flabbergasted by the huge corruption and the return of the oligarchy elite which she is a part off. While Macapagal Arroyo case is simple a power grab, she is being used by the elites in overthrowing Joseph Estrada being a VP at that time (eerily similar to Robredo role BUT Duterte is such a Force), when she turn her back against them by introducing reforms, it was her turn to taste it, a reminder that behind the scene who really hold power. And when Benigno Aquino won the Presidency , he jailed her as punishment upon the urging of his fellow elites (her betrayal). That's how politics work in my country until Duterte change it all, his legacy had empowered us and the elites are seething in anger...lol

If Lenie had somehow won then she would have been toast within 2 years of her administration guaranteed. The idiots in the celebrity minded morons that support those clowns have totally bought into their own smelly farts and importance. The losers are elevating Lenie as if she had done heroic for the country; she's being portrayed as this Filipina Mother Teresa which all I can do is LOL...

I am familiar with Pres. Corazon Aquino because of someone that's close to my family served as one of her PSG. Mrs. Aquino was a nice person but a lousy politician and was easily pressured to do the biddings of her "advisors." She was simply thrusted into the spotlight to be used by the political opportunists on a grieving widow whom was convinced that she had all the ingredients necessary to lead the country out of the Marco's years/nightmares as they saw it. The result was an actual mess.

All of these were swept under the rugs because of Cory propagandized saintly image, the reason for launching 7 consecutive coup against her. After her term, the oligarch run amok and had become power brokers, everything is decided in the Metropolis earning the moniker Imperial Manila, they pick and choose who will run the country , the legislator and even the judges. Now he made a video accusing Marcos of being a Chinese puppet, the video is as usual riddled with lies and deception. I already flagged the video for its malicious contents. But it will need more flags to get the video taken down or at least demonetized.

@ansy1968 , its situations like this why I have advocated for the establishment of a strong Sino-Filipino quasi-political block in the Philippines, so that efforts to protect the dignity and rights of Chinese-Filipino people can be better coordinated and appropriate actions can be taken right away.

@PhSt all in due time bro, right now the US block had a tenuous hold and their narrative are being challenge cause it was based on a lie. They're using Identity Politics to silent critics BUT the dam had burst and this tsunami victory is a first of many, the SCS issue is yesterday news, every time it was raised automatically the masses assume the US involvement, it become synonymous as a geopolitical struggle between China and the US. And Duterte and his FM Locsin played a role in raising awareness and educating the Filipinos. Now bro as China rise in prominence so are her influence, right now China can't indirectly challenge the US, BUT as the American self destruct with her idiotic policy, China looks pretty attractive for us here in the region, she look so pure and innocent unlike our old haggard condescending colonizer.

If we can move the discussion away from internal Philippines politics to China's SCS strategy a little bit. My impression from looking at some of these polls pew research and others have done is that US is still quite a bit more popular than China in Philippines. Even if that's not the case, my question is what can Chinese government do to improve its relation with Philippines? Now that they have the fortune of a more Chinese friendly head of state for close to 2 decades. How can they make in road with the military and general public during this time. How can China reward Philippines for picking a more pro-China candidate for 2 and possibly 3 elections in a row. Being a former US colony, it's understandable that America would have tremendous influence in the elite circles and military. This won't go away over night.
