Because selling Benz and BMW to China is more important...
Fully Support China's position on this.
If they do not want to do this, why are they doing it then?Germany is already being as non-confrontational about this as possible. The subtext is clear, they don't want to do this at all and they're hoping Chinese leaders understand, which I'm sure they do but no need to host just tip your hat and let it be.
If they do not want to do this, why are they doing it then?
They know they are supporting a hostile act against China.
Showing solidarity with the US. You should realise what happens to western politicians who work against the narrative. Losing your job or funding is just a start.
Being enemies of the US can be dangerous, being friends with the US is fatal - Kissinger.
Do we really think Germany can outright and directly refuse something like this? We're not talking about cutting all trade etc which would be too tall a task but American policy makers putting pressure on unified front on China? You must show loyalty.
@Gatekeeper Sir RT is doing a better job than CGTN...lolGreat take on the SCS and the U.S. hostility towards China from RT.
As I said many times before, Germany, like many other European nations, is heavily infiltrated by US agents, collaborators/Quislings and Quisling organizations that do the bidding of the Neocon/Neolib US in Germany. Germany, as a US vassal state, will only act in a more nuanced and constructive way once its masters in Washington DC and elsewhere have had their fill of wanting to be the wannabe rulers of the world. Germany should work more closely with Russia and China on security matters and act as a bridge between the US controlled west and the east and the rest of the world. On a side note, the North Atlantic Pact, just like the Warsaw Pact, should have been dissolved 30 years ago. European nations will pay the price for Anglo-American imperialism and their twisted desire to be the rulers of the world forever. The only way out for Germany is to do a military exercise with China and Russia against a NATO like enemy; if they want to truly show a balanced and neutral stance, that would be the right way to go.
Anything else at this stage is simply pro anglo and with it, should come sanctions similar to those enacted against the UK if the teutons also ban huawei
@Gatekeeper Sir RT is doing a better job than CGTN...lol
