China's SCS Strategy Thread

wow, 100K pesos reward!
I guess the PN sailors will all put up a 'please-beat-me-up' sign on their torsos from now on.
It is less than 2k USD.

But more important is the symbolic message this act represents. Instead of being disciplined, the government is publicly rewarding Philippine personnel to be aggressive, reckless and hot-headed. Marcos encouraging recklessness will be responsible for consequences of future actions and potential harm incurred.

To be precise 100K peso = USD1,617 at today's FX rate.

Marcos seeks China ties reset
The meeting came days after Chinese Coast Guard personnel allegedly boarded a Philippine civilian vessel near Ayungin Shoal
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. wants to reset the Philippines’ relationship with China to prevent a repeat of recent confrontations in the West Philippine Sea, Malacañang said Thursday after the Chief Executive met with Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the meeting lasted about an hour and 20 minutes.

“The President’s hope is that these incidents will not happen again and that the relationship between China and the Philippines can be reset toward better engagement,” Castro said

The PRC should increase its military, economic, and diplomatic support for the Russian Federation and Belarus as strategic fortifications. Those Eurocucks should not be allowed to drift too far from their own soil and destabilize other parts of the world through the use of proxy forces.

That’s still a lot of money in the Philippines.

This is primarily a PR stunt. Marcos or any politician would hand out money or essentials personally in coordination with the media to victims/constituents suffering. The purpose of which is to show solidarity and support to the public as well as perhaps, deflect blame. A very common tactic if you want a long career in politics. Expect the supply bags, water bottles and cash envelopes to have the faces/names of said officials.

Rubio has finally said something about it, and it's a weak nothingburger statement

It essentially tells Philippines that they're on their own.
And this probably makes it less likely for Philippines strategy of using ASEAN chairmanship this year to pressure China to succeed
I only seen a few responses but I noticed ever since Marco went to China he seems to stop caring what the smaller countries say even though he's the foreign affairs guy.

Like when India or Philippines complained to him about the issues they're facing he just flat out goes sorry but don't care, you guys have to figure it out on your own since we're busy here.
