Wonder why China doesn’t use some of its available riot dispersion equipment in these situations.

Rather than get into unseemly scuffles, just blast them with a sonic burst or microwave blast. Non-lethal, far more effective, much better optics, and extremely hard for the Philippines to copy. Even if the do import some such equipment at great cost, that’s when you move in with bigger ships and water cannon them to bits.
Preferably, yes. Having physical scuffles that lead to visible physical injuries are fuel for the US-esque and US manipulated mass media in the Philippines soliciting sympathy points from the public and international audience. If the CCG used sonic or microwave attacks, there would be less obvious materials for the Philippine mass media to work with. Relying on reports/interviews of victims may not be impactful enough due to almost none of the public can relate being on the receiving end of a sonic or microwave attack or it will just be deemed as a military procurement problem on our side. Then again, these wouldn't stop their narrative framing and might reinvent themselves anew.

The funny thing is since these are my people, I do wonder what is the most Filipino thing that could happen the moment you point those sonic or microwave weapons the second time around turned off. Would we ignore it and continue on our pursue or pause, turn around and retreat? Or something far more comedic?

Philippines will always try to play the victim game and will always find an audience in western countries and anti-China countries in east asia.

There are only two ways to break this cycle. Give up and go home. Or escalate to the point of complete domination, essentially shut them down.

But China is not willing to do either, so the grind will keep going.

They are probably waiting for the arrival of some new Duterte... But I don't know. The media already belongs to or admires the Americans and the average Filipino has no other source of information. No more Dutarte will have a chance.
I judge this based on the situation in Europe. Here the information base is much larger, but the main channels serve the average citizen only their own truth, controlled from the USA. And how are the Filipinos.. those poor ragged people in those boats...

The problem to that is that the political and corporate elites in the country from birth to their senior years are already mostly in the US camp without them even realizing it or whether they liked it or not because this was the political and economic reality they grew up with. China as a true competing power against the US is a relatively new phenomenon barely even a decade old. The consequential people to people connections and exchanges with openness and biased towards China are only being established and it would take another decade or two to bear fruit. Like the current rounds of China-inspired Filipino students are just beginning to enter college in China or are fresh graduates and that viral TikTok China university dorm video really gives you a glimpse where it is now and the mindset of Filipinos exposed to Chinese mindset and culture.

About the Dutertes, it is just a matter of having bad to worse choices in Philippine politics. The subtle and competent ones are wasting their potential and the country's opportunities by being obviously, US cucks, while groups like Dutertes are loud and obnoxious "opportunists" who couldn't even do a proper graft without getting away with it. They really lack the sophistication of their rivals and are often a step or two behind the schemes of those US cucks. Waiting for another Dutertes, an improved one hopefully, is an option in the short-term but nurturing this trend in the change of politics in the Philippines should be the long-term goal of China. After all, China and the Filipino people's predicament are the same, a lack of good options in our politics.

These video kept popping up my feed being shared everywhere. With the way people sound, you think its something really tragic.

Yet its got less action than your standard "owned" or cop video you see on youtube/twitter etc.

Like we have Russia and Ukraine killing groups of adult men in 0.5 seconds using drones and missiles. We see Iran blowing up US planes and bases. We see Lebanon having first person drone footage of Israel solders being fried in their tanks.

And yet the way people describe this vid, you would think its worse than that. These people need to see what an actual battle is like to stop being so hysterical all the time.

deterrent work if other side too scare to escalate past red line (US-Philipines join defense treaty for example) but if other side too aggressive and cross every single red line you put out then you are in deep shjt trouble

because now the ball is on your side ... either you hit back to save face but start ww3 everyone die (include you and you don't want that)
or
you bite your tongue and humiliation back down for the..."greater good"

the aggressive side who escalated eat all the benefit cake

...sometime it better to be the aggressor instead of let other guy do it first (the other guy im talking about isn't philipines)

And China just exactly defied what you said. The aggressive side gets turned every time while China, the chill side, builds up our islands and expands our territory. Sometimes, trying to relieve bully rage in writing makes you miss the actual picture, eh?
