Chinese bank because most of the fund is from the bank. By extension the Chinese people because so many of their social program didn't get funded as the population aged
For every dollar that is loaned mean 1 less dollar for social funding
There are still 80 million Chinese who live on $2/day So it is not fool paradise

So only looking for the far tree will get your head bump because the you didn't see the tree in front of you!

All those physical investment will only work if is accompanied by reform like more efficient and less corrupt government , ease of doing business, opening up, jettison those subsidy that encourage waste. and get rid of entitlement and Raj license. Discourage people from hand out

So building road, port, power plant will not overnight make Pakistan China far from it. I am afraid by dumping ton of money China will only encourage the mentality of dependency

Look, the chance of India joining is none. CPEC passes through PoK, do you guys understand what this means to India? If Japan builds a supply depot on Diaoyu, would Chinese ships use it? Talk may be cheap, but it's not free, and it's not worth wasting talented diplomats and enticement on something that ABSOLUTELY will not happen under the current geopolitical climate. It's like trying to build a car without having invented the wheel first. Keep trying won't get you there, wait 'till the wheel's invented.

All things change, one day India will be open to joining CPEC and OBOR at large, but stop trying to build a car without wheels for now. If anything, put the energy toward building the wheel first.

To believe in zero chances of India joining BRI, including CPEC, is the equivalent of saying one knows the ebbs and flows of future geopolitical currents, and the ripples they generate in forms of unanticipated events. Is that truly your position?

I think my last paragraph explained precisely that. There will certainly be ebbs and flows, but wait for the flow, don't set sail during the ebb.

While timing is everything, fortune favors the bold. That's also how the mandarins in Beijing sees things too. That's why they use China's comprehensive national power to try and shape events and create favorable conditions for the BRI. Their continuing diplomatic and financial outreach to India is part and parcel of that strategy.

On other hand don't know why people can't digest the unconditional huge Chinese Investment which is ever growing & now reaching to > $ 72 Billions plus recently (Hydro Power projects MoU's signed with Chinese companies by KPK govt which is around $ 23 billions) hence its going to be > $ 100 billions. Non of International powers invested on ground ever in such away.

I am on this forum from almost a decade now & every time any new development in terms of equipment or another comes out, majority of the members comes with same statements...fake/PS/to early to confirm & more.... means not ready to digest or stay in their own shell.....

First, as I was saying, it's an investment. You need to spend money to make money. GDP per credit generated in China is at an all time low, which means there's excess credit relative to what the current system can absorb. To address this, efforts are made to improve the system so it could absorb investment more productively, but until that's accomplished excess credit can be exported. Pakistan is the first country to sign up to the BRI fully, they'll be rewarded for that and also serve as an advertisement. Some bumps on the head is worth appreciating the beauty of the whole forest.

Yes, Pakistan needs to improve their governance as well, but it also needs infrastructure to grow. And China isn't giving Pakistan money, it's giving Pakistan things to make money. China isn't giving them fish, they're providing them the fishing rods.

So Pakistan is a growth story. You have to look at its prospect, in which China plays a big role. With China as Pakistan's growth driver, its current financial situation is not as relevant anymore. It is something a financial analyst may miss since he does not see the future as well as the marketing department.

That is the angle to look at now.
