The UNCLOS and US still takes the cake for being the most asinine.

Baffles me.

This just show the power of the western MSM and Propaganda. Living here in the west, most of the populace believe all this China is not complying with "international rule based order". And this isn't just confined to the uneducated masses .

Heck, we even have a few members here (The one with the pony) arguing the very same "international rule based order" even when after it was pointed out that the U.S. is a non signatory. The reply was, went something like this: "well the U.S. follows the guidelines set out by it."

You just can't make this up.

All propaganda to make China the boogeyman again.

Take that SCS for example. It keep a lauding the international court has ruled China's claim illegal and illegitimate. Blah blah blah. It keeps repeating this every chance it gets. And of course readers are going to believe that. But strangly, they fail to mention the ruling dished out was from a kangorro court paid for by the U.S. with a Japanese as the head judge. You just can't make this up.

Further, they also harp on about how US is following UNCLOS, yet conviently failed to mention the U.S. was never a signatory of this UNCLOS and therefore have no part to play in the interpretations of this law.

And after alll that, the western countrues uses SCMP and Aljazeera ti do its talking. Propaganda at it's best.

Technically speaking, that judgement was never legal to begin with. Since the legal definition of an arbitration is “a private process where disputing parties agree that one or several individuals can make a decision about the dispute after receiving evidence and hearing arguments” and the Chinese never agreed to it, legally speaking, the arbitration was never valid to begin with. Unless the definition of an arbitration is different in the UN and the tribunal can basically force an arbitration upon a party’s head, the tribunal that took up the case, by the definition mentioned above, violated the requirements of an arbitration. Based on that, those people violated the law.
