I worked as lecturer in my local college educating 16 to 19 year olds. I can tell you some of the standards of their English and maths are the worse I've ever seen.

US doesn't even have 200 cities. And I think Americans are much more smarter than risk even 1 of their cities for a distant empire in Asia.

Our friend from Portugal does sound like a child. He doesn't even realised that it only takes a few dozen nukes to lay waste to humanity. And he also doesn't know the US is not going to send their sons in to die in Ukraine, Georgia when it come up against near-peer advisories. So what chance are they going to defend Taiwan when it is near indefensible.

The bigotry, prejudice, imperialism, hypocrisy and hubris on display here, is why we have Spaniards (and Africans like myself) on this thread and supporting your POV and right to national sovereignty and restoration.

This incessant inability to view anything through any other lens than one soaking in belief in their cultural and racial superiority is nothing but hubris.

Africa has been brought nothing but pain, exploitation, division and suffering by the West. I’m not going to be naive and say that China is our salvation (we are our own salvation), but what they have done is show the world the basics of a model that can lift people out of poverty and defend against imperialist exploitation. Yes China could exploit (if African leaders allow them or are weak/corrupt/poorly educated), but in addition to our resources, China needs a market for their cheaper goods, eventually China will need a place to manufacture cheap goods for export to China and to buy China’s ever-progressing expensive and advanced goods... meanwhile the West drops bombs, backs the very worst dictatorships, funds civil wars, rape-like extraction of natural resources, economic exploitation (IMF, World Bank, France-Afrique policy etc.).

What I’m saying is, a minority of the greater human family needs to wholly reject the worst aspects of their last 600 years of history and accept a peaceful, cooperative and truely multilateral world (e.g. by respecting China, Chinese people and Chinese internal issues and sovereignty) - and let go of your hubris and hegemony, or 1B+ Africans (and their natural and Human Resources) will move firmly into China’s camp (not to mention other intelligent/enlightened people like our Spanish poster)

This is wrong analogy. If the USSR advanced into European countries, it would be naked invasion against other sovereign countries and the invaded countries would fight them with all they had. The USSR did not have the will to launch such offensive. On the other hand, when Nazi Germany invaded the USSR, the Russian people made huge sacrifices to fight against the Nazi. I'm pretty sure you're very familiar with that part of the history.

The notion that the US's "credibility" would be on the line and would be "kicked out of Western Pacific" is ludicrous and is argued to deter China's inevitable unification of Taiwan. Weighting someone's credibility, even that of the almighty U.S.A., against Chinese territory and sovereignty is way out of proportion. That once China unifies Taiwan, the US would have to get out of Western Pacific (what does that even mean?) is weird logic. We're not talking about China invading Japan here, which is totally different from China recovering Taiwan.

So you're confusing Taiwan, a legitimate territory of China, with Europe or Japan, both of which are independent sovereign countries of their own.
