Pretty sure Biden has to do that to avoid being called a traitor by the Republicans. At this point it's evident that US has fragmented to the point that that its political elites can't even form a concensus on anything, and everything is guided by ideological bias and thirst for power, not practicalism. Just look at the Olympic "boycott." The US political system is looking more and more like the Sejm during the latter days of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. And yet rest of West still clings onto it desperately. Quite silly if you ask me.

Biden is limited by the upcoming mid-term elections in November, which limits his ability to make changes on tariffs. He might lose the Senate and possibly the House. That's why Biden has not moved on tariffs yet. If Democrats lose badly enough in mid-term elections due to economics and inflation, then Biden will move swiftly to make tariff exemptions for Chinese goods. Removing tariffs will reverse Trump's disastorous policy, and alleviate inflation, and boost consumer confidence. The Republicans will hate on Biden no matter what he does, so being called "Beijing Biden" is insufficient to deter him, especially when Democrats get ass-whupped by Trump-era inflation inducing tariffs. He needs an economic boost for 2024, so timing is what matters.
I don't know. I say we should keep clicking on those articles so that these "experts" can keep their head in their lower half and churn out more articles like these to keep US elites misinformed.
