The CPC told you the reason for the attack was the divorce settlement, it's not like the CPC was going to tell the world the third deadliest terror attack in China this century happened right before the start of the Zhuhai Airshow. You know it's related because the first news came out of AP (not Chinese media), and they directly linked the timing to the Zhuhai Airshow.

For these kind of things the government usually acts cautiously regarding circulation of imagery and to have things be confirmed first so misinformation doesn't occur.

It's kind of like how the footage and details of the Xinjiang violence years ago was tightly controlled and footage of it remains not very widely circulated.
