Tianjin , Hangzhou, Shanghai have many AMWF couples now .. there are also many Danish , American and British women in Shanghai.. second most number of wives coming from Southeast Asia .. especially Laotians.

in Heilongjiang province, its very common to have Russian wife ..

even on YouTube, we have countless channels of those couples.. let alone Bilibili and other Chinese social media.

now this wave is hitting China and the percentage is on rise.. the more China rises the more percentage increase in future.. Love is pure but at the end prosperity and wealth matters.

I recall reading netizens comments that foreign wives don't get much official policy support, as in hard to get PR and work permit. Also China doesn't want to seem like it's trafficking woman. I think China should drop the whole "trafficking woman" connotations ASAP, this is the easiest way to slow down the current demographics decline.

As an aside, China also runs a massive trade surplus, in the long run this is not good. Look at the collapse of Ming (flood of silver) and Qing (opium war), partly due to running trade surplus with rest of world. Chinese goods are way too competitive, this was true two thousand years ago, it is still true today. Other countries have to use services to compensate for this imbalance, like Japan for example, we all know what kind of services it historically excelled at.
