Shoot them with rubber bullets if nothing helps, people to dumb to understand the predicament of releasing covid on an insufficient health system, will understand when hit with 30 Joule against their ribcage.

No one can undermine the party's authority and get away with it

China shouldn’t even have an insufficient health system. The last 2 years should have been spent under the assumption that the west would fail to contain the pandemic and every resource should have been dedicated to ramping up n95 mask production, opening up dedicated covid treatment facilities, manufacturing biologics like remdesivir, and training up staff on standardized treatment algorithms.

it takes a month to get a newly minted intern physician comfortable enough to know and treat covid patients from intubated to room air.

Nah...let those people express their frustrations since being cooped up inside your home will make just about anyone irritable, and a little mad. These people have the right to be angry; it's part of being human. But, if they decide to destroy public and private properties then all bets are off. Hammer time.

I don't get that part about the Chinese health system. Maybe their standards are too high and everyone needs to be a DR to see patients? I know for a fact that the US trains "not necessary the brightest" to be nurse practitioners and physician assistant to handle the "majority" of the mundane medical cases, at least on the cheaper spectrum of care.

My biggest concern is the labor issues caused by covid. China running so smoothly in 2020 and 2021 was directly a product of zero covid. Without it, COVID is going to be a major strain on migrant workers in particular. For ex, imagine a migrant worker in Shenzhen and their parents and kid get COVID back home in Shaanxi. There is a good chance they abandon their position to go back and take care of their loved ones. and then there is the issue of workers "not being the same" after they recover. Buckle up for a bumpy ride

I hope Chinese media reports on the protests. It's better that Xinhua, CGTN, Global Times, etc. write about it as they stick to facts. Western media constantly adds unwanted anti-China commentary

How did you get this illusion? The official media will never release any news about the protest.
No matter what kind of turbulence happens, the official media will always show that "society is stable and prosperous".
I never have any illusions about CPC's propaganda ability. Their response to Western vilification is simply to cower in a corner with their heads in their hands and wait for someone to kick their ass.

This will be doomed to be another trivial matter that is not worth mentioning under the grand narrative. Maybe the relevant personnel will be punished, but this scandal will never be publicized.

Time will tell. Maybe this time it will be different and Chinese media will respond, just like they did with the banking scandal a few months ago.

we may not see it in the English media but in the Chinese media there was a loss of information about It.

The west is simply better at propaganda as they are used to using (dis)information warfare between political parties. China is decades if not a century behind the west in this matter. All official newspaper in China is covering the same news. China may never be good at propaganda but good thing they can control the internet to shutdown any opposition voice.
