Here something fishy about this image … at first sight a regular modified PLAN NA J-11BHG with PL-8B and PL-12 ASMs but it seems as if there is a darker shade of grey visible starting at around the pilot and continuing up to the tails.

Just a matter of light and shadow or a new two-tone colour scheme???

I don't know, but the image has definitely been retouched. I debated whether to post this, but decided to share it because the airframe appears to be genuine. I believe that pretty blue sky is either a fake background or heavily retouched. Notice the blurriness around the cockpit area. I suspect the bird was transplanted onto the blue sky in Photoshop, but the question is why go through the trouble?

With PL-8 at least it appears that they are trying to phase them out. In a recent exercise they expended dozens of them, many of which appear to be the PL-8B variant.
