What's with the pixelated settlements in the original?

Unfortunately only one of these images - the one you posted - is real, the other one with the dessert is a Photoshop fake.

I investigated closer and it doesn't seem to be a fake. One, the account that posted it is official and has never posted a PS'd picture before. Two, the J-10C's refuelling probe are at different angles in the two shots.

The direction of shadows forming on sand dunes(sunlight from right) is opposite to that on the silent flanker(sunlight from left)..

PhotoForensics analysis heavily suggests that the desert photo is doctored. The ELA (which checks for different compression levels within the same image) suggests that the aircraft were copied & pasted onto a desert background, hence the varying levels of image file compression.

J-11B prototype was seen (Zhuhai 2018) testing various guided air-to-surface weaponry, including the TG-250 laser-guided bomb, CS/BBD3 laser-guided bomb, and possibly others.

This is the first time that a J-11B has been seen using guided A2G weaponry.
