So, j16 should be in serial production for some 2 years now, if not a bit more.. right? We have no serial numbers observed so we don't know how many are there, but using previous j11 production rate history - would it be safe to guesstimate there are some 40-50 j16 produced so far?

It's batch production and the same plant produces J-15 batches. So if you know how many Flankers the plant makes in a year ( we don't ) you know the sum of J-16's and J-15's produced per year.

I believe 3 regiments of J-16 already handed over and in operational ... it means 3 x 24 = 72 J-16s. I also believe 1 regiment produced a year

I just labelled it J-11D even if they are discussing it as J-16s or J-11D s... IMO however it can't be a J-, since the twin seater with the taller tails features a "green" tail, whereas his one clearly has a yellow one found on the fighter-versions.

So are these two J-11Ds maybe?

IMO there are at best a few delivered to the 175. Brigade at Dingxin and maybe - but unconfirmed - to another unit ... some say within the 3. Division ????
