Yep the SU-35 was originally built with canards and OVT, but the canards have been eliminated after being judged to be "unnecessary" with the OVT, as a cost saving measure. They just felt they did not need both, and that the OVT was a simpler addition than the canards.

I believe only Indians SU-30MKI with canards. Al other SU-30 series have no canards

Slight mistake on Jeff's part; the Su-30SMs do have canards. They're simply domestic versions of the Indian MKIs, canards and all.
