Deino, do you suppose that the PLAN will ever get J-16s to either supplement, or possibly ultimately replace its SU-30s?
It would be neat one day to see a picture like this with a PLAN J-16 and PLAN J-11BH operating together as opposed to the SU-30 and J-11BH we see here.

Okay, guys, I know this is Off Topic, but I have a question, and we have a LOPT of great Flanker knowl;edge weighing in on this thread and I hoped it could get answered. I also posted it on the Russian Military News thread.
Does anyone know what the standard Russian AF (at least currently) paint scheme for the SU-35S is going to be?.
I have seen a number painted in this Dark Blues scheme. Will it be an official production scheme:
I ask because I am starting a 1/72 scale model of the SU-35S and I want top build it and depict it it in full-up service colors.

Yes...I have seen those too.
But I have also seen five or six production Russian AF SU-35S in the above pictured and numbered dark blue scheme.
Are both paint schemes being used?

Interesting... The lighter blue color scheme was introduced for the first units of SU-35 inducting into service. The later aircraft were painted dark blue, as was the SU-35 Russia brought to Zhuhai Air show in 2014.
I believe the dark blue color scheme could be the current paint scheme replacing the lighter blue colors which incidentally was the color scheme for older SU-27 in Russian air force. My 2 ct wild guess is that they want to differentiate SU-35 from SU-27. Moreover, dark blue looked much more aggressive,

I know that there is a lot of flanker knowledge on this thread and I was not getting any response to the question in the Russian Military News and Russian photo Threads..
I believe Icloo gave as good an answer as I am apt to get and will leave off now here on the Chinese Flanker Thread.
