I don't know if you guys noticed but it seems that Huitong is more confident now that the J-16 exists. He updated his J-11BS entry saying that the speculation that it would be used as a fighter bomber was incorrect. At the top of the page he added information about the J-16. I will be a tandem seater, based on the J-11BS but with improvements. It seems it will be the successor to the JH-7 as a fighter bomber.
But he doesn't suggest that it will be in the same class as the F-15SE, instead, that will come later (J-17, J-19?)
I think the supposed JH-7B was canceled long ago.

...He says J-11BS is really just a trainer/twin seater version of the J-11B... But the J-11B can already carry all Chinese PGMs so J-11BS should be able to as well... Or is J-11B unable to use PGMs??
And how will we tell J-16 is different to J-11BS?? What the heck?

Actually I think this just shows SAC is even more incompetant than we thought.
It is quite mysterious. The J-11BS should be able to fill the fighter/bomber role. Perhaps the PLAAF wants something that is significantly more capable than the SU-30. Stick in some WS-10G engines, AESA radar, slap on some fan blockers, RAM, and a canopy coating...wala...J-16.
Haha, I don't know. Seems like Shenyang has too many aircraft on its plate.

Its seems the plane is flying within civilian building area and releasing flare?? Seems like a bold and reckless decision..
