Some of it probably because of pandemic but not much.

No wonder we're seeing big moves now. I think there is going to be big redistribution by Xi of wealth to poor and lower middle class.

It is imperative to grow at all costs when China is surrounded by enemies. We've seen how the US is funding separatists and terrorists all over China.

The moment China lets up by letting the population decline is when the US alongside its minions Japan, South Korea and western europe will strike.

Yes. The Chinese Nation is once again at its greatest peril. March On!

I think you guys are overselling it. If anything, the opposite is true, America and its allies don't know how to react to China's growing strength. They're the anxious ones, not China.

The demographic is a financial problem not a military problem. While finance and military are connected in the R&D and technology sense but the west and allies are not that innovating that fast on that front from what i have seen the last 5~10 years. The flying disaster called the F-35 is like the last big thing they have done.

The west plus allies are like half of China's population with a equal or even worse demographic profile. China's thing might be to sell the "Chinese dream" to nearby Asian countries to suck up the talent in the region. Or send out the older generation bachelor to SEA countries to find a wife option enough to fill up jobs or population if needed.

Disastrous. Demographics is China's biggest threat. USA is a distant second. We need no more small piece changes but big action to have even a small chance to tackle this existential treat.
Immigration would solve any drop in birth rates but it's also important to increase TFR. We shall see if the current raft of measures is going to be helpful

How welcoming is China to immigrants? I know East Asian countries like SK and JP don’t and that’s why their pop is declining.

Immigration is a thorny problem. China is mostly populated by 1 major ethnicity. If it starts getting more immigrants from around the world it could destabilise the country, which is a big no-no for the CPC.

As you later said, I think maybe only SEAsians could be considered, and even then maybe Japan and S.Korea as they would already be rich and thus are highly educated.

IMO it is a bit early to talk about any potential immigration. The Chinese Gov has already started taking serious measures to ease the pressure on children and parents. I am expecting a lot more measures to be rolled out in the near future.
We will probably need to wait max 3-4 years to see if there is any effect. If it doesn't, then thats when the immigration will be seriously considered.
