The most current distribution of ESF of Maritime police alone has:
2350, 2352 and 2337 as 3000 ton cutters
2151, 2166 as 1500 ton cutters
2146, 2149, 2153 as 1000 ton cutters
2047 and 2062 as 800 ton cutters
2041 and 2044 as 300 ton cutter
That is an interesting update (or estimate).
Hai Jing 2352 would be a surprise, as it would be ex Hai Jian 52 now reportedly being refitted at Wuhan as research ship SHIJIAN.
Hai Jing 2353 must be ex Hai Jian 53, the former cable ship You Dian 1 built 1976 – I thought it would be retired.
Hai Jing 2149 must be 800-ton ex Hai Jian 49.
Ex Hai Jian 62 is definitely Hai Jing 2162 (or they have repainted it again…). I do not know about sistership ex Hai Jian 47.
Hai Jing 2041and 2044 must be ex Hai Jian 41 and 44, two small ex-navy intelligence trawlers based at Xiamen. I excluded them for their small size.
As mentioned several times earlier in the thread, Hai Jing 2401, 3401 and two sisters yet to come are based on China Rescue’s Hai Jiu 111 class, of which 15 are in service, two (Dong Hai Jiu 117, Nan Hai Jiu 117) are currently fitting out at Huangpu and two more on order. But China Rescue alone is for rescue and salvage, 2401-3401 ships are indeed intended for ocean patrols, which is China Coast Guard’s domain.
