China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

Well, you asked for it, so do not be upset if this list of major China Coast Guard ships seems a bit long. It has been somewhat simplified, as a number of smaller or older ships have been omitted.

Thanks for sharing the info, however where is 037s recently transferred from PLAN & more to come???

As I said, smaller and older vessels were omitted. But there are two former Type 037 at Qingdao, Hai Jian 20 and 32. I am pretty sure there will not be any more.

I saw this list too. I think it's accurate based on what I've seen.

I think the existing fleet list is missing ships.

The most current distribution of ESF of Maritime police alone has:

2350, 2352 and 2337 as 3000 ton cutters
2151, 2166 as 1500 ton cutters
2146, 2149, 2153 as 1000 ton cutters
2047 and 2062 as 800 ton cutters
2041 and 2044 as 300 ton cutter

Chinese captions..

These look like off shore service ships. They are probably not patrol or law enforcement vessels. Instead i would guess their intended role is a combination maritime emergency assistance, medium to heavy duty towing, and logistic support for offshore platforms/stations.

2041 and 2044 as 300 ton cutter

That is an interesting update (or estimate).

Hai Jing 2352 would be a surprise, as it would be ex Hai Jian 52 now reportedly being refitted at Wuhan as research ship SHIJIAN.

Hai Jing 2353 must be ex Hai Jian 53, the former cable ship You Dian 1 built 1976 – I thought it would be retired.

Hai Jing 2149 must be 800-ton ex Hai Jian 49.

Ex Hai Jian 62 is definitely Hai Jing 2162 (or they have repainted it again…). I do not know about sistership ex Hai Jian 47.

Hai Jing 2041and 2044 must be ex Hai Jian 41 and 44, two small ex-navy intelligence trawlers based at Xiamen. I excluded them for their small size.

As mentioned several times earlier in the thread, Hai Jing 2401, 3401 and two sisters yet to come are based on China Rescue’s Hai Jiu 111 class, of which 15 are in service, two (Dong Hai Jiu 117, Nan Hai Jiu 117) are currently fitting out at Huangpu and two more on order. But China Rescue alone is for rescue and salvage, 2401-3401 ships are indeed intended for ocean patrols, which is China Coast Guard’s domain.

On reflection, I think that the list of East Sea CGC ships in post # 283 was drawn up by some one familiar with the inventory of CMS, trying to predict which numbers they would get.

I just saw a picture of Hai Jian 53 in Shanghai, not changed to Hai Jing 2153.

Also, as mentioned, Hai Jian 62 did not become Hai Jing 2062, but 2162.

And a recent report speaks of Hai Jian 44 and 49, unchanged numbers:

In fact five Coast Guard, the two 4,000-tonners, Hai Jing 2401 and 3401, and five 1,000-tonners, including Hai Jian 1001 and 2032.

The two catamaran survey ships are Nan Ce 429 and apparently 430.

Thanks Franco-Russe I had no idea what those ships were the catamarans I mean! How many have been built and what is their operational role?

There are just two of these catamarans, one launched in 2011 and one in 2012.

As I said, they are (sea-bed) survey vessels, as indicated by the 测.

They are evidently having trouble with them, as the first continues to return to Huangpu and was recently seen sporting the strange pennant number Huang Chuan 029, suggesting it was now the property of Huangpu Shipyard.

I will tell you something about Vessel . before the Vessel comission one year.the ship yard will give the owner one times free repair.then the owner will give the last funds(usually 10%).
