A missile base of the rocket force of the People's Liberation Army recently conducted coordinated military drills from the desert region and the jungle region to improve the assaulting capability of the missile combat group under complicated and difficult conditions.
Participating in the drill in the jungle region are launching operating units, communication units and confrontation units while joining the drill in the desert are combat units which had to cope with the high-tech harassment by the informationalized "Blue Force" and prepare for combat under cover.
"After arrival at the plateau, we have been conducting operations by combing wire communication and wireless communication, fixed communication and mobile communication, and broadcasting stations and small satellite stations. It not only challenges our physical extremity, but also trains our capability to construct a network and remove disturbances rapidly under harsh environmental conditions," said Lang Xiaomou, a company commander of a signal company of a missile brigade of the missile base.
The different launching operation units in the desert region hit a common target after receiving the order for fire assault. Just at the same time, the launching units in the jungle, together with the remaining launching unit in the jungle, conducted coordinated launching.
"This is the first time for our brigade to conduct live launch after we were named the rocket force. By conducting the drills such as long hours of hiding, continuous attack under extreme cold conditions, fully-guarded assault under nuclear biological or chemical conditions, simultaneous attacks by the launching units from two different regions vast afar, the commanders at all levels rapidly judge the progress of the battle, precisely make operation plans and flexibly command the operation," said Zhang He, a brigade commander of a missile brigade of the rocket force.
Zhang added the soldiers of the rocket force in two regions have improved their reaction capacity in coordinated attacks, transferring the missiles, and rapidly providing reinforcement support under complicated conditions, besides having their battle plan and operation method tested.
The Rocket Force of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) released a video of a live-fire drill put up by one of its missile-launching brigades.Officers and soldiers of the missile-launch unit steered new-type vehicles and carried out dozens of live-fire drilling subjects, including quick occupation of battle fields, operation wearing all protective equipment and successive upgrading tests.
In the pitch dark night, several dozens of armored vehicles of the brigade performed camouflaging maneuvers and battling field occupation, and simulated the launch of missiles. The drill lasted from day into night and tested 26 training methods and 18 tactics.
"The more advanced the hi-tech weapons, the more solid basic skills we users are required to master, so as to lay a foundation to foster proficient and solid combat capability with the new equipment," said Wang Peng, a battalion commander of the missile-launching brigade.
China's Rocket Force has carried out multiple drills on emergency response and rescue under attacks by biological and chemical weapons as part of efforts to enhance its capacities of tackling unexpected disasters and accidents.
The drill set a scenario that the force suffered from a nuclear attack and required it to make a quick response to clear chemical pollutants. All the soldiers and officers have changed to protection suits in less than 90 seconds after the drill started. They hurried to the site with over ten multi-functional vehicles and detected pollutants first and sent a robot to collect them.
In less than 30 minutes, an environment report came out that all the chemical pollutants have been disposed and put under control effectively. The Rocket Force, formerly the Second Artillery Corps, was inaugurated on Dec. 31, 2015 to enhance China's missile forces. It will run in parallel with the country's land, navy and air forces.
A brigade of Chinese Rocket Force recently conducted a drill to test its maneuverability and fighting capability in challenging adverse environments.Tens of fully-equipped vehicles lost momentum on the rugged road while simulating real life emergencies in minus 20 degree Celsius weather.
When the brigade was attacked by the "enemy" using biochemical weapons, the brigade managed to dress in protective gear quickly and efficiently and got through the contaminated area within ten minutes. The emergency squad rushed to the site and removed obstacles, while other transportation squads kept moving forward by way of backup roads.
Soon afterward, the driver of a heavily-armored vehicle reported that the chassis was seriously damaged by the "enemy". The brigade immediately deployed specialists to start repairs.A live-fire operation was immediately carried out as soon as the brigade arrived at the combat area.
"This comprehensive real-combat drill is targeted at testing our weaknesses one after another, and set a solid foundation for the new year's military exercises," said Zheng Chaowei, an officer with the Rocket Force.
A missile brigade of China's Rocket Force recently carried out a drill to improve its maneuverability and fighting capability in low temperature.
Various adverse conditions were simulated for the troops maneuvering under a temperature at minus 20 degrees Celsius. When a missile launching detachment arrived at their designated position and prepared for launching, they encountered malfunction of the oil pressure sensor of the launching truck caused by low temperature. The commander immediately ordered to warm up the sensor with heating equipment.
The troops also practiced transferring to another position just as they set out to launch a missile. During the maneuvering, they conducted high altitude reconnaissance and camouflaging. After they arrived at the new position, they found it contaminated by poisonous gas, but the troops went along with their launching task clad in protection suits.
"For winter training in the past we conducted simulated drills indoors. This year we mounted a field drill on frozen roads in low temperature and fully clad in protection suits. Through such a realistic drill, we want to improve the troops' operation accuracy and fighting capability," said Li Dongxu, Chief of Staff of the brigade.
China's new missile force, the Rocket Force, carried out multiple drills during the New Year holidays as part of efforts to enhance its nuclear deterrence and counter-strike capacities. Despite a freezing temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius on Friday, multiple artillery units took part in a live-fire confrontation drill in the country's snowed-covered northeast.
With one side launching simulated airstrikes with the aid of electromagnetic interference and drone reconnaissance, the rival troops made use of snowfield camouflage and fought back with fast maneuvering.
Thousands of kilometers away in an arid dessert of China's deep northwest, another artillery exercise took place with dozens of missiles deployed for simulated medium- and long-range precision strikes."It is a new start for us," said Zhang He, commander of a missile brigade stationed in the northwest.
"As a member of the Rocket Force, we are trying to adjust our mindset, development strategies, and standards to meet the requirement of the new name, to get ready with all-out efforts in combat training and a comprehensive building of the new force, so that we can write a glorious chapter in our national defense and army building," he said.
