Three non-commissioned officers of the Navy of Peru investigated for allegedly leaking information to the Armed Forces of Chile
(Defensa.com) The Minister of Defense of Peru, Pedro Cateriano, has confirmed that NCOs of the Navy Alfredo Dominguez Marino Raffo and Johnny Richard Borja Philco being investigated for allegedly leaking information to the Armed Forces to Chile. A third sergeant, Alberto Gonzales Alejo, currently only being investigated for "disobedience", it would have traveled abroad without authorization. They are accused of the alleged crimes of disloyalty, disobedience and treason. Cateriano said that the periods in which they would have made filtration acts have been investigated in the case of Philco, between 2005 and 2012; if Domínguez, between 2011 and 2012, and the third case, that of Gonzales, between 2010 and 2012.
Cateriano sent a letter to Congress President Ana Maria Solorzano, requesting to attend next week to the Standing Committee, to inform national representation on the alleged leak of information that would have made these three noncommissioned officers of the Navy. According to sources cited by the Peruvian newspaper La República, the investigation would be part of a network of military personnel engaged in these practices filtration military information.
Cateriano, meanwhile, asked about any communication sent to the government of Chile by these facts, it stated that, upon learning of facts, in April last year, decided to maintain confidentiality to the investigation have better results, not having been officially informed the Foreign Ministry of Chile on the situation.
