Sorry, I am not sure what you wanted to show here. Are u not happy with China's tighten control on general population in buying of Unical, Maytag and 3COM or what?

If it is the control, then I fail to see what is the problem here. Are you trying to say that China should waste her money buying those stuffs?

A few thing here...

1) Can you tell me what high tech stuff of other country are 100% manufactured by that said country? This is business my friend, why is your thinking still stopped at some centuries back whereby you would want to build everything yourself.

2) Do you seriously think that China could not manufactured the said components? I mean, come on...

And please do some research and stop thinking that whatever other people (such as Korea or Japan) has, means it is good for China.

Please state which country didn't had a chunk of it coming from real estate? From what I can see, real estate is not a bubble, finacial sector is the bubble, many do not have any real backing in it.

Thinks like manufacturing (china has it), real estate (china has it), R&D (china has it), export sector (china has it), import sector (China has it and it is growing too), etc. All these are solid foundation stuff... not bubbles... not to mention huge supporting domestic market, so that if any one sector (especially the export market) is not doing well, they can be turned back to their own domestic market.

The main thing here is getting the people up and increasing their buying power, which I think the Chinese are focusing for sometime now... and generally the cities near the coastline are all getting wealthy enough.

I saw those video but what the reporter missed to say,Those Apartment are all bought by investor and in China you need 40% downpayment to buy a house unlike in US where one can buy with zero downpayment . Some people even buy it on cash!. China has very small debt from outside the country So no bubble

China urbanization rate is very low something like 30 to 40% The need for housing is real.I remember during the 80 when China built the highway system the western press mockingly called it highway to nowhere because they are empty and yet within the span of decade China has the largest automobile market in the world . Their strategy is smart built it and they will come . Now they replicate the recipe for success by building super fast train and urban transit system. real estate growth is OK when a country is developed and industrialized.
But CHina still on the phase of industrialization which is what they should concentrate on.

Using real estate as primary wealth making is not very sound for a still developing country.

More under the hood components such as domestic made engines, control systems, IC components, harddrives would be needed.

What you think China doesn't concentrate on Industry. China is simultaneously developing country and industrila country at the same time .Just check the statistic in term of steel,automobile, industrial machinery ,electronic China is up there with the first rank of industrial world.

People invest in real estate because they have more money now and culturaly Chinese is predisposed to invest in real estate, You think the price is high in China just check the price of real estate in Hongkong or Singapore!

Why do you keep calling China as not industrialized? What make you think so? Because their semi-conductor industries is not as good as the Koreans (like what you have said in your other thread?)

And why you keep saying that China's primary wealth came from real estate? (which incidentally is different from your first posts).

We all know that China is in the phase of industrialization, but not in the same sense as you keep saying, CHina's industrialization of the coastal cities are completed and to many extend even better than many other nations, they are pushing these back toward the west and north (inner China), so that growth will be more uniform. But what do they need for investment to move deeper into their country?

Houses, roads, basic infrastructure. Without all these, who in the world would want to set up their factories there?

People putting overwhelming alots of money into real estate means they only know limited way of making money.. Real estate and stock are the primary focus of Chinese people.

I am not saying CHina is not getting better. but getting more wealthy without high degree of industrialization is only an invitation to be robbed by others..

Let's not compare to China to Singapore, HK, or Taiwan because if the superpower is going to attack those wealthy places, they would be defenseless..

China has a different destiny and a harder path to go. Therefore, China needs to have higher degree of industrialzation than those places to survive.

The person who posted his article on Wiki sourced his information from a reputable source.

IMO Youve got to build the ships first not just have a slightly larger order book to make the claim of being the worlds biggest ship builder. So may I SUGGEST WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID CHINA, BASED ON ORDERS, WAS SET TO BECOME THE BIGGEST SHIPBUIDER DURING 2010

IMO One should also consider how much indigenous content is used in the boat to get bragging rights on who builds the best boats.

India and Vietnam also build ships. No big deal. China has to set the bar higher and do something those countries can't do.

Building the big plane with domestic engine would be one of that but who knows how long it will take for CHina to master.
