I meant to reply to this before. I agree with Obi. I was just twelve when I saw one in Australia in 1956 so I really am showing my age! The Vulcan made a magnificent sight and made the RAAF's Canberras look quite insignificant in comparison. Unfortunately the Vulcan concerned crashed when attempting to land on its return to the UK. The crash highlighted the fact that, at that time, only the pilot and co-pilot had ejector seats.
