Most people are not dedicated to search through forum posts and piece things together to stay up to date on info and number anyway. I think you'll find that people like us who frequent sinodefence as members are quite a small minority in the population. Even if someone had known about this place to look for info it takes what, maybe a couple of months of absence to lose track of where things are? So they would want a book for easy consumption. And if info goes out dated then economics would suggest some sequels and further editions :D.

I wonder, is there some sort of scheme where people can buy an online book regarding certain time changing topic, then have a sort of arrangement where they pay small amounts to received updated downloads every now and then.

Deino's Chinese air power monthly subscription perhaps? :D

Guys, I consider myself very knowledgeable about these things.

But having a good library is also a good thing and the quality of Deinos work are such that I am happy to have them in my library.

Very well researched, very good, outstanding pictures. Lots of GREAT info at your fingertips.

I would recommend them to anyone, irrespective of their level of understanding.

Yes, SD is a GREAT place to keep up with things that are happening...but in terms of documenting things that have happened, you will not find a better source on PRC aircraft.

Thanks a lot guys, both for Your nice words (3) but also for Your suggestions & Franklin's concerns (2), but first of all to Your request on a e-book-version (1).

1. To admit, I will ask my "boss" again at Telford, but I think the chances are a bit slim, since first of all he thinks that most of all there are image-quality issues, that don't really be visible in print, but would be in an e-book version. Even more I think he is - similar to me - a bit "old-fashioned", just someone who like to have something in his own hand instead of something visible only on a tablet. But again, I will ask him.

2. That's in fact a big problem and it was even more one when I was just finishing that baby. One has to remember that we (most of all thanks to "

at the CDF) were just getting a better understanding of what was going on then regarding the Brigades, how they were numbered and even more from what units they were formed. In return I do not know how many late-and-very-late corrections were added to the final draft including new images drawn by Tom Cooper. If I had to decide, I would have preferred to postpone it all by three months - what would have excluded a few really stupid mistakes (maybe someone noticed them !?) and even more it would have been much lesser stress.

Anyway... now back to "Flashpoint China" and after that a similar small-volume PLANAF-Orbat update is planned one year later and a full PLAAF-update half a year later-later.

If You therefore have any certain wishes like special analysis, special focus or maps, illustrations etc. just tell me PLEASE !

Minor update .... we have just finished the last editing, when again revised maps for the new Theatre Commands came out. As such ... I again had to reorganise the Orbat and add a few changes.

Anyway the final uncertainty is now the Hubei Province ... Southern or Central Theatre Command, that's the question ?? ... but otherwise I'm done.

Sadly Tom Cooper - my co-author - decided to leave that project, since after all the work we've done we had to cut the original fine considerably in oder to fit into the 80-pages limits and in the end he told the publisher to leave !

So now it's up to me to bring this baby back home ...
