Vast majority of Chinese martial arts are useless in real fighting.
Thanks for answering my curiosity. It will be interesting to study the performance in modern warfare between un-trained vs trained (in martial arts) soldiers. Imagine how soldiers like Bruce Lee and Jet Li compares to average trained soldiers? Will they be more agile or faster reflex, accurate / fast shooter, smarter strategist and calmer?. It worth the study if the result is positive and we get "quality" soldiers. Maybe it's just me that too fascinated with action movies , Ha Ha :)

To improve reflexes, PLA used VR to train its soldiers. Personally I think any fast sports like ping pong , basket ball, ball hockey, etc can help much more than memorizing a bunch of dance moves

That is the sort of sweeping statement people should avoid. Shanghai is one of the largest cities in the world. Calling all of the Shanghainese white worshipers is like saying all Chinese Americans are hanjians.
True but in a cross sectional perspective, you will find alot more HJ in Shanghai than in Chengdu or anywhere else in Mainland China.
