How prevalent is hazing in the PLA/PAP? Are there any anecdotes from former servicemen?
I don't believe I've heard of any anecdotes that would constitutes as "hazing" in a real sense, I also know that any such anecdotes will be circlejerked by the libs to hell and back if they exists. So I'm going to go with no, it's not prevalent at all.

I bumped into this channel. The master located in a Shaolin monastery branch in Germany. This master seemed very knowledgeable and wise; Master Shi Heng Yi. I strongly believe that a good soldier should have skill, strong physical and calm mind. Gong Fu martial art may only be useful when hand combat; but, the art will indirectly contributes to the 3 qualities mentioned earlier.
I wonder does China's army trained in Western way or our Chinese martial art included as well?
Vast majority of Chinese martial arts are useless in real fighting.

Thanks for answering my curiosity. It will be interesting to study the performance in modern warfare between un-trained vs trained (in martial arts) soldiers. Imagine how soldiers like Bruce Lee and Jet Li compares to average trained soldiers? Will they be more agile or faster reflex, accurate / fast shooter, smarter strategist and calmer?. It worth the study if the result is positive and we get "quality" soldiers. Maybe it's just me that too fascinated with action movies , Ha Ha :)

To improve reflexes, PLA used VR to train its soldiers. Personally I think any fast sports like ping pong , basket ball, ball hockey, etc can help much more than memorizing a bunch of dance moves
