With an naval armada building up in the Mediterranea, could it be interesting to send at least one PLAN ship to observe them in international water ?

It would be a good idea but Beijing probably do not want Western media to go berserk on them. They probably don't want to deal with the headache. If I recall correctly, they didn't show up the last time NATO and Russia had a naval stand off in the Eastern Med.

Not combat ships, ELINT

I've completely forgotten about the USS Liberty incident back in '67. Maybe that's the reason why China is staying away from the Mediterranean Sea. If the Israeli's back then had no fear of attacking the US back then, they certainly won't have any fear on repeating it against China.

PLAN doesn’t care about Israeli military. If PLAN does send an ELINT ship, the target will be the Western Armada.

How would Israel justify attacking a PLAN ship? It's not like Hamas got a navy. Especially since there are a ton of "friendly" ships in the area. If it's an "accident", then it'll just help China "accidently" deliver a thousand missiles to Iran and Syria. Or by"accident drop 30 missiles on Tel-Aviv.

They will care once the Israeli military is foolish enough to try it again.

Justifications are not needed. The Israeli ruling elites have been so accustomed to getting their way without consequences, they won't be bothered with it. But, all of us here outside of Israeli power centers know better.

US is an Israeli ally and patron, so it creates complications for US when attacked. China doesn't have that problem, it is simple question of does China have the motivation and strength to respond to such an attack. Or should hey respond directly or use a proxy.

What happened to the Rail Gun PLA was testing on top of a ship several years ago. Its been so many years since we saw it back then. Did it get shelved just like the US rail gun as unfeasible?
