I think Shanghai Zhenhua shipping service (ZPMC) has four such ships for carrying barges/tugs/small ships/pontoons etc.

One of the moderator from cjdby posted some "rumors" yesterday. He mentioned construction of PLAN LHD will not start in 2015, maybe not even in 2016. But 001A will be launched in 2016, and work on 002 will also start in 2016.
Some people question about the progress of the 001A and skeptical about his claim that it can be launched in 2016. He than said he saw the main hanger deck section being pull out recently in his "dream".
And construction of 055 started this Spring, will probably see pics of the real ship in 2016. I can't vouch for the informations here because I don't know these people's credibility or reputation, but I figure his claims should be more credible than other random posters as he is a moderator of one of the more popular military bbs. We will find out soon what happen in 2016 if any of these claims are true or not.

Well, unless the 001A is being built completely in secret, completely covered by a building, the "rumor" is completely shot. And I do not believe for a moment that the PRC is building a carrier in "secret."
A carrier that is being built in any major Chinese shipyard, and if it was going to be launched next year...then it's hull would be very close to complete, along with the flight deck to the point of it being obvious that it is a carrier right now.

@Jeff Head When a moderator on cjdby says something in his dream, it usually means "I know but I wouldn't say how did I know" or "I've explain my point clear enough and don't want to talk with trolls". In this case it is more likely the former. Though I agree with you jeff if 001A is about to launch in 2016 we should have seen it unless it is built in british way.
Good enough then...but the statement is still something that I find to be simply rumor with no evidence or foundation.
Time will tell.
The plane on the carrier resembles the aircraft picture you also give but both do not resemble JZY-01. The tail is entirely different. JZY's tail resembles that of its USN counterpart with four vertical tail surfaces.I know it is inappropriate and I'd better post it on carrier thread. But, guys I need your help, is that JZY-01 on the carrier?

The coins are nothing new, SDF readers saw them months ago. The fact Dalian can't hide CV hulls from Google Earth tells me there isn't any, yet.
1st,,,this is not breaking news. Breaking news would be an actual picture of a real AEW aircraft on the Chinese carrier.
2nd, it is on a military coin, coins which have been discussed in the past. The AEW aicraft there is not meant to represent anything that is currently in service.
