Well, there's this ship. It may only be a test platform, but I do think there is probably a useful niche to be found between current 056A and future 054B (assuming 054A production actually draws to a close at some point), mainly enhancing aviation capacity of 056A to create an affordable first-rate ASW combatant.

Im going to try ask again, maybe my last question got missed by people who would know the answer.
Any more info about HHQ-9 SAM upgrade or variants over its lifetime?
USA ships are pack with so many different SAM(SM-6, SM-3, ESSM) but PLA mainly uses HHQ-9 and some TOR on the frigates, I wonder if China made any different HHQ-9 variants for different specialty.

Sorry, I thought since you are from USA your first language would be English. So pls excuse my reply on #1097 above.

Type 039 has 6 tubes capable of launching torpedo and missiles. SO technically it can carry at least 6 torpedo, or it can carry a mixed torpedo and missles ip to 6 in total. I am not sure if there is any spare torpedo or missiles on any spare racks since I have not seen any photo of that.

So a simple answer is type 039A/B/C can carry at leat 6 torpedo and missiles.
