It's not dependent solely on speed. If the missile is heading head on towards where the target is, according to physics it will still be able to intercept. It simply means that the area defense coverage of the interceptor is decreased laterally as the hypersonic missile speed increases, so area defense becomes harder. Now it's much harder to tell how hard intercepting a maneuvering warhead would be, but a pure ballistic trajectory should be quite easy for SM-6, or any sufficiently advanced SAM to intercept, due to the fact that the warhead is travelling straight towards the location the interceptor is being launched from.

How about the other aircraft like U-2, SR-71, D21B type drones?
China is not copying US in manned recon aircrafts like U-2 and SR-71. WZ-8 is similar to D21B in concept but technologically vastly superior.

Purposed built manned recon aircraft designed to fly high over enemy territorial air space has lost its place in present days of drones, satellites and anti-air defense.

there is none
Speaking of missiles, have we heard anything about the ramjet AAM (PL-21?) for the J-20 lately? Is it even in development?

Or just a PL-15 successor and/or replacement in general? Do they consider PL-15s with folding fins will suffice for now?
