Not the most glamourous question but I have a question about this blog from the 2009 Zhuhai Air Show from 14 years ago about as proposed export variant of the J-8 that never went anywhere:

My question is... did Shenyang actually 'build' (or modify an existing airframe) a J-8T or is this just a reused picture of a 'normal' J-8? And if if it in fact 'make' a J-8T, did it also have modified hardpoints? IIRC at an earlier Zhuhai, there was a scale model of an "F-8T" export fighter that mentioned an increased payload in addition to improvements in the avionic and engine?

Are ground-based radars (i.e. JY-14) linked to aircraft in the air? Can they guide air-launched missiles to an aerial target?

No, he meant that the first flight of said new aircraft occurred just yesterday.

Wondering if there's anyone who's willing to drink (more) chicken blood from the air force side?

Yes for sure and these guys should not risk anything ... but still I'm most curious, what it could be?
