Personally I am hoping for a new ZTZ-99A variant or future MBT tech demo, Z-10 with engine upgrades, Type 055B, HQ-9C and J-16 upgrades (maybe enough to earn it a J-16B designation) on top of those.
055B is probably not that likely to happen, at least in this year.

Although I suppose we might get some rumours if it might happen though.

If you look at history, those changes were all done by 116.15.119.21 which geolocates to Singapore. Just salty people.
Not sure if it's salty people or fanboys because it's not making the PLAAF look weaker it makes them look stronger by saying they have aircraft like H-20 etc.

Why don't anyone put FLIR/IRST inside the plane's canopy?

Instead, 5th gen jets normally put them inside a multifaceted enclosure either under the nose (F-35, J-20) or above the nose (See TF-X)

Optical distortion I guess, a curved windshield like what is typically on a modern jet really isn’t the best choice for this. Plus, I’d imagine that without major redesign of the cockpit internal (notably the area in front of the pilot where the avionics, display and hud is) there just won’t be enough space to squeeze a flir/irst in.

Is the PL-21 confirmed to be in development? And will the missile that was tested on the J-16 a couple of years ago also make it into service?

"A", "B" and "C" are sequantial variant designation, J11 => J11A => J11B
"G" stands for "Gai", meaning modification or upgrade
"H" stands for "Hai", meaning sea, i.e. Navy variant, and also can be "Hong" for bombers (H-6K, JH-7A)
"J" stands for "Jian“ used for Fighter jets. (equivalent to "F" or Fighter in English speaking countries)
"JH" stands for Fighter Bombers.
"D" stands for "Dian", meaning electric, normally for electronic warfare variant fighter jet.
"K" stands for "Kong", meaning air, normally means Air Force variant.
"Y" for transport plane
"YY" for aerial tankers derived from transport airplanes
"Q" for anti-submarine aircraft
"Z" for helicopters
"JL" for trainer aircraft.
"KJ" for Early Warning aircraft (AWACS, AEW&C)
"FC" Fighter China, normally refer to fighters offered for export.
"FT" Export designation for Fighter Trainer jets
"FTC" Fighter Trainer Combat, export version of trainer jets with enhanced combat capability
"E" stands for Export version.

Why there are both KJ-200 and KJ-500 ? They seems to be redundant, despite differences in approach they essentially fill the same role of AEW.

KJ-2000 could be viewed as "high end" system while KJ-500 seems to provide "lower cost" system for AEW solution, but i wonder what to make of KJ-200. Is it an "even lower cost" solution or something else.
