lol, I can tell you for sure that Qwen is the preferred option because we are heading to a race to the bottom for AI services.

anyways. another huge data center under construction in Xinjiang for large model training

Said to have 20 EFLOPS by the end of this year.

This is from Silicon Flow on its current efforts to use domestic chips and the amount of tokens it consumes. Looks like under 1 Trillion per day

Weichai is now the biggest domestic supplier of AI data center backup generators

When did weichai enter China’s AI diesel generator market ?

I put together a thread just explaining this fallacy of China lacking compute. Complete nonsense by the way and the result can be seen by all the great AI stuff coming out of China including the model released today by Meituan, out of all people.

Yeah, the food delivery company in China can even develop really good LLM. It's that easy.

Alibaba went full force against Meituan's code buisness. They not have to pivot to things like LLMs.

Broadcomm is helping Google with their TPUs, so this gives an indirect and imperfect measure of how compute Google is playing with. Many believe they are the most compute-rich of all major Western AI players, but we don't have good numbers on this.

Microsoft's ASIC chips have been delayed due to unsatisfactory performance. Unseating Nvidia from their throne is harder than many thought. So far, it appears only Huawei and Google have their own specialised hardware for AI that's worth anything.

In the FT tweet, three of the data centers are from telecom companies. What's the data center scene like In China. Is it like the rest of the world with Hyperscalers or telecom companies are thriving in cloud era. Because in other countries, telecom companies were caught flat footed by could computing and stagnated.
