Genuine question, from a non tech background and no AI experience
If the entire Chinese ecosystem goes onto DS, what happens if another AI eg. Grok3 comes out to be better than DS?
Would that make the Chinese ecosystem lack behind?
What about qwen AI, which has better benchmarks than DS? Would it make other better Chinese AIs not get the chance to expand and be adopted?
DS can grow and improve. If needed, nothing keeps China from learning from the others. In fact, before DS, Chinese AI offerings were arguably behind the best from the west. Tencent, Baidu, etc. integrating their ecosystems with DS does not meaning they are hard coupled with DS. Engineers worth their salaries should have built programming interfaces between their apps and DS to minimize the coupling. It should be easy for them to swap when needed.
