The World Intellectual Property Organization published the "Patent Landscape Report on Generative AI,"

54,000 GenAI-related inventions (patent families) were filed and more than 75,000 scientific publications published between 2014 and 2023. In 2023 alone over 25% of all GenAI patents globally were published, and over 45% of all GenAI scientific papers were published.

The top 10 GenAI patent applicants are:-

1. Tencent (2,074)
2. Ping An Insurance (1,564)
3. Baidu (1,234)
4. Chinese Academy of Sciences (607)
5. IBM (601)
6. Alibaba Group (571)
7. Samsung Electronics (468)
8. Alphabet (443)
9. ByteDance (418)
10. Microsoft (377)

The top five inventor locations are

1. China (38,210 inventions)

2. US (6,276 inventions)

3. Republic of Korea (4,155 inventions)

4. Japan (3,409 inventions)

5. India (1,350 inventions)

This is unexpected. Does Ping'an have subsidies in IT in general or in AI specifically?

they have two subsidies.

1. Ping An Technology, that focus on finance , healthcare and working in smart cities projects

2. Ping An Brain, an AI technology service platform that integrates deep learning, data mining, and other technologies. Some of its products include Ping An Smart Voice, Ping An Robot, and Crius Smart Recommendation System.
