yup, sell it as api ai as a service to rest of world

put the other countries out of work, at mercy of US gov

extent petrodollar another 1000 years
have you tried to actually convince customers to use AI vs continuing to use whatever they use now?

Try making money when open source is 90% as good as the closed source models.

I agree partially, since qwen is pumping out weights left and right

but US other trick is to keep EUV "inhouse" as itself and vassals.

Elon musk is building million GPU AI supercluster

High NA EUV is now the standard, 1.5nm process nodes coming soon. if China cant break the 3nm wall, the rest of the world stand zero chance

Models need infra to run inference, if USA chokeholds the gpus then they can control the market and set the terms of access...

Iff the AI is good enough, some say o1 pro already might be, then any country that doesnt use OAI gets left behind...if they get enough of head start, set the standards, and get enough momentum of rest of world to convert their apps, processes etc to all be infused with US AI via API etc then thats vendor lockin the way andriod, windows, apple have held hostage large swabs of the planet.

so naturally the idea is to have the world flock to US , instead of oil, America is now gatekeeper of intelligence

This has been the plan since 2018...

China needs to counter and take this more urgently.

How many of the China-origin top-tier researchers are working in China?
Note this is from 2022.
Also note this is based on attendance of the American NeurIPS conference.
Also note there are more China-born AI researchers in the US than US-born

AI is practically a Chinese science right now.

I recently watched a clip of a US based AI comp Ceo, seem a podcast, he was asked if Chjna is behind Ai, and he said no, and they should strive to attract AI talents from China to go to US. have anyone watched it too, i cant remember his name/company. Thanks.

I suspect the goal of US AGI involves automating all knowledge work, like lawyers and doctors, and replacing these professionals so that the owners can reap huge profits. Given that a huge % of US workers do knowledge work, it would represent huge savings for business owners.

There is little mention of manufacturing or hardware because the profits of these industries are less. In the eyes of capital, only the most profitable services are worth investing in.

ai can replace human only if it consume less energy than human brain.

You also have to take the speed of AI into consideration. If AI can find a solution, say, 10000 times faster than human brain, it needing 10000 times of the energy as human brain will be acceptable for some use cases.

Lawyers and doctors don't need to be 10000 times faster

its not sheer speed nor energy... more about cost...

if lawyers charge $500/hr of billable work, but I can go on hyperbolic.xyz and use Llama 3.3 model for 20 cents per million token, guess which one most people are going to use?

that's what consume less energy mean. But human brain can provide answers with ease after millions years of natural selection.
