The new American dream, be free and own a tent.
Interesting, one must wonder how on earth they intend to clean and do toileting. Soon the entire state is going to smell like sh!t. Just like the whole nation right now right up to the leadership which I am very convinced has sh!t for brains. I mean look at Brandon and how he defaulted so quickly to war as the only solution, that proves that he is a sh!tty human being that shouldn’t be on earth in the first place because he is eventually going to leave the world in a worse state then it would be without him

If they do that, they would have effectively defaulted their entire currency. No one is gonna trust them to keep their obligations and promise anymore (Well even less than we have now after they frozen Russia's reserve), and we'll see a massive flight of cash to hard assets like Gold, Real Estate and stocks/bonds outside of US.
What if American use hard power to coerce Europeans to hold dollar, and crack down flight of money via legislature? Do a straight robbery.

What kind of hard power? Like threatening to destroy nations like what they done to Libya when they decided to adopt the Gold-standard? If they crack down of the flight of money using laws, then its kind of like capital controls China already adopted, this would erode one of the reasons why dollars is a reserve currency, but since the trend is moving out of the US dollar reserve standard, maybe it would be beneficial for them, however it'll accelerate the trend, so it could be better to do a swift strike like declaring all foreign debts invalid and the assets/money stored in the country confiscated, like what they're doing with Russia at the moment.

But for EU's case, like BlackWindMnt have said, US already sorta controls both of their economy and military, so they don't really need to use hard power.

Extorting the politicians, coups, influence elections, etc.
Could work, but the amount money that needs to be allocated to get every country on board is pretty staggering, and there are a lot of risk blowing back, like political instability in Pakistan at the moment. The current strategy works enough and is a lot more cost effective, like saddling them with debts through IMF in dollars. All of that just to keep the reserve currency status is pretty unsustainable in my opinion, they should instead invest in their tech sector to keep their technological supremacy and infrastructure, figure out how to make themselves unreplaceable to other countries, instead spending too much into destabilization.

Also to repeat, EU is kind of already under control by US, so they probably are already coercing their banks to keep their reserves in dollars.

Exactly. The money is already spent. There will be no extra needed given their vast intelligence network. Lets say there is a popularist movement calling for abandoning USD dependence throughout EU. I am sure American can crack those down even if they have majority support.
