When you have a tank that can be easily defeated and out gunned and outranged by pretty much all anti armor weaponry, all of them needs to be phased out soon. Your replacement strategy should not hinge on the the unlikelihood of foreign land invasion.

Would the US need to replace all M1A1 Abrams because it has been proven it could easily get destroyed by modern anti tank which a lot of countries have? .... no, it doesn't need to. Having RPG and anti tank is one thing, able to field it is another thing and able to fire it also another big thing ... so it is not that simple, unfortunately.

Tank is one of the many variables in the equation ...

I am sure you have heard Z-10, that was a top priority for China (much higher priority than replacing 059) and now the production rate is very high, soon China would have 500 of these babies

China would be able to destroy even more modern tanks of her neighbours by these babies quickly ... if need to (I do hope it never happens)

Having a priority is extremely important, nobody has unlimited resources, not even the US ... let alone China. And it appears that Chinese planners and leaderships wisely have decided that replacing all Type 059 is not a priority at the moment ... and it is very sound decision!!!

Clearly they have but I don't agree it's a wise decision... and frankly I'm surprise you think otherwise. Just as I'm critical of my own government and even military when I see things done in an asinine fashion you should too.

If the us army/marines are still using M48s I'll be saying the same thing.

You may be a true patriot however that doesn't mean you should agree unquestionably every decision and actions taken by the CCP or PLA etc.

I don't consider I am a patriot, I don't blindly agree of all Chinese govt decisions/approach. I am smart enough to judge it .... I am surprised you judged me that way!

We have a different opinions, so what ? it doesn't mean anything!. I respect your opinions, and you don't need to judge me that way or tell me what I should do. We are both adults and this is just a discussion, ok! ... Chinese govt won't change their policy/approach because of what I say or you say

Well many of so called "armored battalion" with type 59 actually take the same place as wheeled assault gun in like say a motorized inf division. And other 59s are just there to keep the BOO (I have a wired thought those red force from various MR just "lose" the wargame so they could ask for more money to replace those type 59 and other antiques). And if war does erupt, type 59 is still better than no tanks.

While I agree that type 59 is better than no tanks, I don't agree that some "red forces" simply lose to get better equipment. When you lose a war game, you as a commander look incompetent. Why would your superior give you better equipment when you look like an idiot? Usually, it is the highly competent units that get better equipment. This has happened in all the branches of the PLA for ages. Usually, the elite units become more elite with the newest and best toys. Poorly performed units become even worse when they are always pushed down the list... You have to perform to get attention from your superior.
