During the Gulf War in 2003 the USN outfitted two LHA/LHD as pocket/Lightning carriers. Each deploying 20 Harriers.



April 20, 2003. Six amphibious assault ships are steaming together in the Persian Gulf. They were deployed to the area as part of the build-up of forces in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I picture off the Marina Militare (Italian Navy) C550 CAVUR aircraft carrier from above

This 24 March 2022 with the entrance of the DDH-184 JS Kaga in the dry dock have begun the works to adapt the ship as was the case before with her sister ship Izumo to the F35B aviation specifications.

Has the MN settled on how many cats for PANG yet? From what few official sources are available it looks to be 2 cats like the CDG.

Then there's artist rendering like that video showing 3 cats, but what's their basis for it?

The left main landing gear is hanging in the air on launch from the port catapult ... I think there was no basis, all fantasy.

The artist has made a very detail job on the cgi and with the latest info and he even impressed the Marine Nationale itself which has made the above video her own take on the future.
