I will confess to being something of a 'Grammar Nazi' at times, but Jeff gets a pass, one he has truly earned. The purpose of writing is communication, and he gets his message across clearly nonetheless.

Exactly, Bless his heart, he loves us all enough to try to "hang out with us" , and we have been blessed with his friendship and expertise!

on another note, we have friends who are not English speakers, who work very hard to participate, I'm thankful for their input as well.

Oh of course, if I knew Jef's first language was not English I would never have been so rude! It's not easy to write in a foreign language, so I understand totally. :)

I think in this forum, with so many different nationalities. Plus some of us are typing on our phones with tiny type buttons and a huge thumb!
In addition, some of us are typing with multiple language type keys, where spell check is non-existence.

So as long as the message is conveyed, I think we should make allowances for any grammatical & spelling errors.

When I teach my students on their topics, they are always worry about their English. I always try and put them at easy by emphasizing that it is unfair for me to deduct marks for poor English, as long as I know what they are trying to write.

I said, that's what their English exams is for.

And there are some in this forum who write with literary-esque English, the type you read in expensive novels, but fumble with the facts or logic, and flub debates.
