If you think that orange dot is in the Persian Gulf then you are either blind, or just don't know geography?
That orange dot is arabian sea entry to persian gulf connecting before strait of hormuz.
The US officials have stated ( formally and otherwise) many times that it wouldn't be wise for the CBG to enter the strait as the IRGC navy with its swarming attacks may try to hinder carrier passage and operations, and that a fair distance from the strait in the arabian sea while launching operations is the most ideal location to be at.

Beautiful new LHD and from thje looks of it, very capable too.

Youtube - Launch of LHD 'Trieste' for the Italian Navy

Displaces 32,500 tons
Can carry up to 15 F-35Bs
Carriers anti-air missiles, up to 16 Ater 15 and 30, or up to 32 CAMM ER missiles

460 crew
Max of 1064 Marines

Like I said, a good LHD with a very decent well deck for 4 LCUs or 1 LCAC and hangar for the helos and fighters.

@bd popeye @Obi Wan Russell @Air Force Brat

The Dems imposed cost caps which became the law and the Navy had to pick and choose what to launch with and what to build in after the fact.

We will not have that many F-35C, and cetainly will not need them at launch for the JFK when Nimitz class carriers will be busy getting them, so the Navy elected to push that off until they would need them. Now the Dems are xrying like it is the Navy's fault.

Typical.

Exactly! so thankful to see you on the bridge tonight Master Jeff, please pray for Jim, he recently had a spinal block to help with his pain, but he's having a very rough go right now, prognosis is no good, so all he has is prayer, and thank you, each one of you, and God Bless!

Why does it matter if the Lincoln is in the Gulf or the Arabian Sea? From where she is now she can strike anywhere into Iran and has more 'sea room' for manoeuvre, making her much less vulnerable to Iranian counter attack. Carrier aircraft have longer legs than most seem to think. Other than symbolism, there isn't any reason for her and her battle group to deploy into the Gulf itself.DZZBL_VVQAExsA1.jpg DZZBNIQVQAE36cR.jpg

Why does it matter if the Lincoln is in the Gulf or the Arabian Sea? ...
it matters if it's true or false information (irrespective of whatever the members and lurkers think),

as there's no ambiguity about if she is, or isn't, sailing in the Persian Gulf as I write,

and during my six years in this forum I've liked a false information usually is called out here

EDIT by the way a passage would be tactically interesting if it were to happen now

Actually my friend, you sell a lot of "ambiguity" here yourself, a negative article about the F-35, or the US Military in general, its another opportunity to take a "shot" at the US Military? heh, that actually sells here on SDF these days, feel free!
