When this shiips visits the east coast of the Us I may venture down to Norfolk to visit her....

I'm not back.. I just cannot ignore this magnificent ship.

Yes, I noticed you're just a shadowy figure that I could stick my hand through and wave around,,,,, I still think you should squeeze some heads with that giant brain of your's, don't waste time with that "choke hold"??

Prolly could start at the top, and actually help some people by pulling their heads out of their butt??

Master Jeff is masterfully?? ( with the help of The MASTER!) holding it together, but like the Star Wars Rebels?? we are just barely holding on to sanity,,, I have the feeling that any day the dark-side will lower its oppressive cloud of EVIL, and snuff the life out of the SDF??? sad indeed, and we wish you were back, pray you'll get a "snort of that old FORCE!"... eh??

nice to know that you're still with us, even in shadowy glory, black robe flowing as you stroll down the dark corridor, lights exploding on all round you!

I'm humming your dark refrain as I type this, and the honey-badger is straring at me like?? "what the heck is WRONG with my old man???

On pic 3 seems same pier, location ?
Indeed it is, The jetty has been completely rebuilt to support the QECs and is now known as the 'Princess Royal Jetty':DHL1gxDXYAAAOxd.jpg It was previously rebuilt in the 1920s and again in the 70s. It's always been the main 'reception' jetty for major warships arriving in Pompey. Ships going in for refit would often be transferred to the large basin (no 3) or straight into the drydocks. It's had a lot of alterations over the years on top of that.

Where are based the 2 others Bay and Replenishment ships ?

Didnt Plymouth had the Ocean and lpds?
When i was there in 2013 for the NOST i saw all of those there.
Ocean in dock and 1 lpd berthed at the training ground for nost. I thought it was inactive since it was so empty.

Yes Ocean and the LPDs Albion and Bulwark are home-ported in Plymouth, but next year Ocean will be paid off and most likely sold to Brazil. The LPH role will be passed to the QECs for the foreseeable future. Albion and Bulwark are rotated through reserve so that one is in service and the other laid up for about five years or so. Albion is returning to service at the moment whilst Bulwark settles down for a long hibernation. It means they will be able to extend their service lives by accumulating less wear and tear. Many ill informed commentators seem to think they are about to be thrown away in favour of 'LHDs', when these two ships are still fairly young. They were due to be replaced around 2030, not 2020, and could well last beyond that...

I'm one day late, but still think this one is worth posting:

Yes ! the name of the base is not the name of the city, port but Devonport is a district of Plymouth !Indian Navy logicaly...use also these désignations but it is possible to know homeport for RFA ships ?
