Ok confirm my feeling and also long for USS America an inconvenience
The thermal coating is not just for F35B fighters but also needed for V22 Osprey. That said landing one of those a couple times is not an issue it's the repeated landings over the life of the deck.
She is a beauty! Don't care what the Russian thinks or says.:);)

Russia mocks Britain's new £3.1bn HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier saying it's a 'huge sitting duck'

So true. ain't happenin'! Back in 2007 Russia announced that they planned to build SIX carriers. Still to this day not a single piece of steel has been cut.

According to a report in The New York Times on 06 September 2007, Admiral Masorin had said in July 2007 that that the Navy planned to acquire six new aircraft carriers with nuclear propulsion over the coming 20 years. Masorin stated that three of these carriers and their naval escorts would be assigned to the Pacific Fleet, while the other three would serve in European waters with the Northern Fleet. But the shipyard in Nikolayev, Ukraine that built the Soviet Union's five aircraft carriers is politically unavailable to Russia. Russia does not have an existing shipyard with a dock that can construct a s the size of an aircraft carrier.

Those are great.

But as with any carrier, the fixed wign aircraft are the bread and butter.

We should not expect to see them on any sort of trial.

We have seen helos labnding on the Ford.

But now the US Navy has the Ford (it will be another 1.5-2 years before the Royyaal Navy ahs the QE.

I expect we shall see aircraft landing on the ford in the next 6 or so momnths.

But...as with the QE...it is a brand new class with new engines, new traps, new cats, etc. so we should not be surprised if it takes some time before they get all the policies and procedures worked out and embark the air wing in any numbers.

Hehehe...Russia talking again.

They only ever completed one carrier.

They could barely refit the old carrier for the Indians into the Vikramadiotya.

I do not expect to see Russia building any carriers for some time.

They are simply cash poor...and what's more...they have let the industry itself go away and do not have the people trained and equipped or with the experience to do so right now.

when they finally fdo their second carrier now...it will take them a LONG time to get it done right, and they will be very careful about doing so. At least they should recognize these realities and take their time.

Just my opinion.
