This is an excellent video of USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) strike group practicing a transit through possibly the Straits of Hormuz. Note the positioning of the aircraft on the flight deck . They are poised to conduct air operations as necessary. Also notice the small craft with red flags swarming near CVN-70. Great overhead shots of Carl Vinson.

The captions translated very well which is unusual. The captions tell a story of naval exchanges between the PLAN and RU Navy. The end hints that the sole Russian CV ADM"K" may under go a two year re-fit in China. there are a total of 17 photos of both the RU Navy and PLAN.

These photos first appeared in a Hungarian Forum. They are dated Nov. 5th. This is supposedly a boiler room aboard the Russian carrier. I believe it...I saw my name mentioned in this forum..I'm humbled.

they say the pilot bailed out, was recovered, is OK (EDIT they even have said something like he's ready to fulfill new assignments ... I wonder if it's possible, to almost get killed one day and fly the next one??)

... I may update this post based on what I find in Russian Internet; for now, here's USNI News:

I ask also here if it's likely for a pilot who had to bail out during landing on a carrier and ended up in the water to fly soon?

If you consider two weeks or more soon... in the case of the USN as long as pilot error is not involved the pilot should be back on the flight schedule within a couple of weeks. I don't know how the Russian do things.

Recent photos dated 11.14.2016 of JS Izumo (DDH-183). The photos were found in a Chinese military site. No specific captions other than this one I found on a diffrent website;

Izumo class helicopter destroyer as built by Japan Maritime Self Defense Force destroyer large helicopters, the MSDF is the largest ever built warships. Izumo level with full formula flight deck, starboard and other types of aircraft carrier ship island layout, full-captain 248 meters, 38 meters wide flight deck, the standard displacement of 19,500 tons and can accommodate 14 helicopters taking off and landing at the same time operate five helicopters.

SOME of the Chinese captions when translated seem to poke fun at only 5 helicopters on the flight deck..

I believe these photos were taken in Yokosuka.
