The company has appointed the executive Marcelo Vaz to be the new president of Rockwell Collins in Brazil, replacing Nelson Aquino, who has been in office over 30 years. Aquino continues in the company, but now in the coordination of projects that will support the company's growth in the region.
"Over the last five years we invested $ 10 million in Brazil and we will probably invest the same amount in the next five years," said Alan Prowse, vice president of Rockwell Collins in the Americas. The executive recognizes the difficulties imposed by the crisis, but says that after 40 years in the country, the company has learned to deal with the ups and downs of the Brazilian economy.
Prowse estimates a market of products and services in Brazil over US $ 5 billion over the next five years, during which hopes to expand its activities in the country between 15% and 20%. Embraer remains the main partner of the company in Brazil.
The military jet KC-390, for example, which was the first military aircraft to apply the technology of integrated avionics Pro Line Fusion Rockwell, now also have the release of cargo and air delivery control system (CHADCS in acronym in English) of the company. The Chadcs is a digital control system used to maintain, monitor and execute accurately airdrops cargo, vehicles and troops.

Vaz says that the new agreement with Embraer increases by 30% the company's participation in the KC-390 program. "We are well positioned in the Brazilian market and the talents needed to keep growing. We set as a goal a 5% growth in sales by 2019," he said.
The expectation of the company, according to the executive, is that 50% of overall revenue comes from the international market. For fiscal year 2016, it expects sales between $ 5.3 billion to $ 5.4 billion.
Rockwell also just signed a contract with the Galeao International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, to provide technology solutions that will optimize the passenger and baggage control during the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2016.
